About Smallholder producers of Ethiopia
In a land where many heirloom varieties of coffee grow grow wild on hills, roadsides, and in backyards, and where smallholder farmers bring their varied cherries to their washing station of choice, this lot is unique because it was sorted to include only Bourbon variety. Though these Bourbon varieties tend to be genetically different from those found elsewhere around the world, according to Cafe Imports, the terms Bourbon and Typica are used colloquially in Ethiopia to describe certain coffee-berry-disease-resistant cultivars.”
This lot is also considered “Special Prep” because it was washed twice and underwent more aggressive sorting during the process. The result is an incredibly sweet, clean, consistent cup of coffee that shone on the cupping table and keeps on delivering now that it’s arrived state-side.

Dapper & Wise
In 2013, Insomnia's owners Evan Aldrete and Tyler Geel launched Dapper & Wise as a tasting room and roasting facility in Portland's Western suburbs, and by 2014, as a wholesaler as well.
Based out of Hillsboro, Oregon, Evan and Tyler work with a stellar team, all of whom are dedicated to the values that undergird Dapper & Wise: “We want people to walk through our doors and feel welcome. We want people to taste our coffee and be impressed and inspired. We want the coffee we roast to exemplify the hard work of the producers that grow it.”
