Coffee Description
Some coffees seem to have it all--flavor, balance, body. This is one of those! Richly sweet from start to finish and loaded with fruitiness, look for flavor notes of blackberry, black cherry, and a kick of lime zest. Super juicy body is balanced by a lively citrus acidity, with tropical fruit rounding out the cup.

About Smallholder producers of Ethiopia
Qonqona is owned by Assefa Dukama, a “big man” in the Bensa region who also owns nearby Shantawene mill and Keneon Chire as well. Coffee for Qonqona mill is drawn from thirty collection points in the area, with local representatives working to persuade farmers with premium incentives to produce and deliver high-quality, only-ripe cherries. Market days are Saturday and Tuesday.
According to Catalyst Coffee Consulting with Dominion Traders import company, two naturally-occurring varieties (known locally as Mikicho and Setami) grow in this area, and are some of the most vibrant and dynamic coffees they have ever tasted. Catalyst believes that this unique combination lends the Qonqona coffee its unique tea-like characteristics of heavy tropical fruits. It certainly left an impression on the Dapper & Wise team when they cupped it onsite at Qonqona. In their words, “Honestly, it’s the best natural we’ve ever carried!”

Dapper & Wise
In 2013, Insomnia's owners Evan Aldrete and Tyler Geel launched Dapper & Wise as a tasting room and roasting facility in Portland's Western suburbs, and by 2014, as a wholesaler as well.
Based out of Hillsboro, Oregon, Evan and Tyler work with a stellar team, all of whom are dedicated to the values that undergird Dapper & Wise: “We want people to walk through our doors and feel welcome. We want people to taste our coffee and be impressed and inspired. We want the coffee we roast to exemplify the hard work of the producers that grow it.”
