Coffee Description
Nectarine, cranberry, and fruit leather flavors float on a river of sweetness that transitions from a caramelized first sip into a sparkly grapefruit-like middle before tapering to a rounded yet delicate cranberry-vanilla destination. Incredibly fragrant and satisfyingly balanced.

About Gatuya Factory of Kenya
Gatuya Coffee Factory (Mill)is operated by Mwirua Farmers Cooperative Society. The co-op has grown to about 900 members since its beginning in the 1970s. Currently, there are only 5 permanent staff members at Gatuya. They manage the factory’s 5 acre plot and facilities, and seasonal workers fill in during harvest. On average, farmers own an average of 200 trees each. In spite of the fact that the area around Gatuya Mill is densely populated and lacks a greenbelt, they have created an ecologically sustainable model complete with banana trees to shade their coffee plants.
Kenyan coffees are consistently expensive due to the unique flavors as well as the relatively low production (ranked #21 in the world). Being the savvy roaster that they are, Dapper & Wise is very selective when choosing Kenyan offerings. When they tasted a sample of this special coffee, they made space for it on their acquisitions list.

Dapper & Wise
In 2013, Insomnia's owners Evan Aldrete and Tyler Geel launched Dapper & Wise as a tasting room and roasting facility in Portland's Western suburbs, and by 2014, as a wholesaler as well.
Based out of Hillsboro, Oregon, Evan and Tyler work with a stellar team, all of whom are dedicated to the values that undergird Dapper & Wise: “We want people to walk through our doors and feel welcome. We want people to taste our coffee and be impressed and inspired. We want the coffee we roast to exemplify the hard work of the producers that grow it.”
