About Smallholder producers of Ethiopia
Reko Koba is Gedeo for Reko Mountain; Reko literally translates to challenging/difficult, referring to the arduous climb up the mountain. The high green mound is also called “Prayer Mountain,” due to the local practice of climbing it for religious practices. Reko Koba mill has had its share of difficulties, but in spite or because of these challenges, the coffees coming out of this mill are exemplary.
Firewoyne Tesfaye holds the lease on Reko Koba mill, and she is committed to coffee excellence. Smallholder farmers from the surrounding hills bring their coffees here for processing. This lot of washed coffee has been taken through the extra step of floating tanks in order to skim off low-density or damaged cherries, leaving only the prime cherries to go on to the pulper and beyond.

Dapper & Wise
In 2013, Insomnia's owners Evan Aldrete and Tyler Geel launched Dapper & Wise as a tasting room and roasting facility in Portland's Western suburbs, and by 2014, as a wholesaler as well.
Based out of Hillsboro, Oregon, Evan and Tyler work with a stellar team, all of whom are dedicated to the values that undergird Dapper & Wise: “We want people to walk through our doors and feel welcome. We want people to taste our coffee and be impressed and inspired. We want the coffee we roast to exemplify the hard work of the producers that grow it.”
