About Harbor Blend

When purchasing Harbor blend, you’re supporting Traverse City, Michigan’s homeless advocacy organization, Safe Harbor. Safe Harbor is a seasonal emergency shelter that provides food, shelter, and hope for those in need. Their facility can accommodate 65 guests, with an overflow capacity of 80 persons. Additionally, the front of the building hosts a housing resource center for those experiencing homelessness on the street.

Not only does Harbor Blend help support a local cause, it helps the people who grew the beans: farmers of D.R. Congo’s Muungano Cooperative, D.R. Congo’s Kawa Kanzururu and Colombia’s Fondo Paez Cooperative. Muungano means “togetherness” in Swahili. Kawa Kanzururu's Cooperative surrounds the Virunga National Park and prosperity through coffee helps preserve the wildlife in the park. Fondo Paez members belong to the largest indigenous group in Colombia.
