The relationships we've built through our extensive history sourcing great coffees guarantees us access to the lots that meet our standards for quality. This applies to our decaf coffee as well. We are pleased to offer this high quality decaf from the farm El Vergel in the Tolima region of Colombia.
After processing and milling, this coffee was specifically chosen to be decaffeinated through the sugarcane method. This process uses the naturally occurring compound ethyl acetate, which binds with caffeine molecules during a gentle soaking process. While the caffeine content gets washed away, this method leaves the inherent characteristics of the coffee intact. This Tolima decaf has a deep chocolate sweetness with just the right amount of juicy apple acidity.
