About Luis Pedro Zelaya of Guatemala

Regenerative agriculture is a conservation and rehabilitation approach to food and farming systems. It focuses on topsoil regeneration, increasing biodiversity, improving the water cycle, enhancing ecosystem services, supporting bio-sequestration, increasing resilience to climate change, and strengthening the health and vitality of farm soil.

After years of traditional farming, Luis Pedro Zelaya implemented regenerative agricultural practices to increase the quality of his coffee by fundamentally shifting his approach to farming. Zelaya partnered with Regenified (the first regenerative agriculture certification program accepted by the USDA) to implement and verify his shift to regenerative agriculture.
