About Wilson Morales of Honduras
This coffee comes from the farm of Wilson Morales. His farm, Finca Aurora, is located at 1,600 – 1,700 masl in the Santa Barbara region of Honduras. Wilson’s dream has always been to live and farm in the mountains. To that end, he used his day job as an arborist to save money and buy the land that became Finca Aurora. This year, he’ll use the money from his coffee sales to build a home for himself and his family on Finca Aurora. And in the next few years, he hopes to move his family away from the bustle of the city to the tranquility of his farm and the mountain.
As an arborist for the National Forest Service, Wilson uses his passion to help preserve the native trees of Honduras. This passion is evident in the way he carefully plants endangered trees alongside his coffee, so that the two can grow together and mutually benefit each other. He is also a progressive thinker, constantly debating ways to improve the efficiency of his post-harvest processing, as well as the quality
of his coffee.
