About Fernando Diaz of Guatemala
This offering is part of our Fernando Diaz series, hailing from the smallest section of his farm know as "Finca Cielito.
Fernando Diaz operates a group of award-winning farms located south of Guatemala City. Fernando took over the operations with the goal of producing outstanding coffee. He started farming coffee with the intention of just keeping it as a side project, but soon he was thinking about coffee more and more. It eventually turned from a side project to something that was constantly on his mind. Fernando went from a man with a coffee farm to a coffee farmer.
In our sixth consecutive year of coffee from Fernando, it’s easy to see and taste Fernando’s dedication to his coffee. He is slowly building his farm with new, healthier plants as well as some new experimental varietals. The methods that Fernando uses for his picking and processing are methodical with data collected at every step of the coffee’s life so he can look back and see what is best for his production. Fernando has a promising future and we are excited to work alongside him.

Coffea Roasterie launched their flagship location and roasting program in 2009 with the mission to source, roast, brew and serve coffee without compromise. Since that time, they’ve expanded their presence in Sioux Falls, South Dakota with three additional retail cafes and a growing wholesale/cafe partner program in the region.
Coffea’s goal is to bridge the gap between coffee farmer and coffee drinker; to help coffee lovers know the farm, farmer, and process so that they get more than just a cup of coffee. The folks at Coffea do what they do because they love coffee, and the role that Specialty coffee plays in the world.
