Coffee Description
Expect a lively, complex cup — sparkling citrus brightness meets sweet stone fruit and a refined, clean finish. Think mandarin orange, ripe peach, and delicate florals layered with a sugarcane sweetness and lingering herbal notes.

Joe's relationship with Kapkiyai comes through our sourcing partner, Vava Coffee, founded by Vava Angwenyi in 2009. A farmer, exporter, and activist, Vava has spent over a decade working to reshape the Kenyan coffee landscape by championing education, empowerment, and gender equity. Thanks to her leadership, and the resilience of producers like those at Kapkiyai, initiatives like Fairtrade certification and targeted agronomy training have helped increase both coffee quality and incomes across the board.
Joe and crema.co are honored to bring this beautiful, meaningful coffee to our menu — a reflection of Kenyan terroir, community strength, and the future of equitable coffee production.

Joe Coffee Company
Back in 2003, Joe Coffee founder Jonathan Rubinstein had a simple vision: brew high quality, delicious coffee, and serve it to the neighborhood with warm hospitality. Since their very first cafe opened 20 years ago on that cozy corner of Greenwich Village, their mission has remained the same—to share their unwavering commitment to quality coffee while creating a welcoming space for the community. Two decades later, they’ve expanded to over 20 cafes throughout Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, and Westchester, along with their very own roastery in Long Island City. As New York's hometown specialty coffee company, they're proud to continue to innovate and lead as the specialty coffee movement expands.
