Coffee Description
Up front we find dense layers of fig, raisin, dried cherry, and tart apple juice supported by brown sugar richness. It’s syrupy, with sweetly tart acidity and caramelized vanilla rolling into a vibrant finish featuring cinnamon, brown spice, and birch beer depths. Big. Intense. Coffee.

About Smallholder producers of DR Congo
In 2004, a group of smallholder farmers north of Lake Kivu got together to form the Soprocopiv cooperative. The times were tough (how little that word really conveys of their daily realities). They decided that the way to improve their lives was through the production of quality coffee. Now 3700 members strong, the cooperative gives growers access to education and healthcare services.
From the beginning, Soprocopiv members determined to focus on improving planting, growing and processing techniques to produce consistent specialty quality coffee. With the main washing station in Kirumba, the co-op’s main office is in Butembo, where they also have their dry mill. General manager, Denis, oversees production, and their resident agronomist, Grace, coordinates certifications for organic status.
