Coffee Description
A swirling celebration of vanilla, brown sugar, and spices, this coffee is solidly sweet and mild, carrying light florals and chocolate in aroma and cup. Creamy in body, it is highly aromatic with balanced acidity and a clean mouthfeel. Chocolate and brown sugar linger in the aftertaste.

About Smallholder producers of Peru
In 1966, coffee farmers in the Chanchamayo region of Peru needed a way to bypass local intermediaries and sell their coffees directly. So 50 smallholder coffee farmers in joined to create the Cooperativa Agraria Cafetalera La Florida (CAC La Florida). As a result, their solid communitarian approach has helped bring much needed infrastructure, education, and environmental restoration to their corner of the Peruvian jungle.
.
Now 1,500-plus members strong, members now enjoy benefits such as new libraries, school gardens, and uniforms for their schoolchildren. They’ve brought education and training programs, workshops on coffee management and production, protection of the environment, and other programs to their community, and La Florida is not only shade grown, but certified organic and Fair Trade, and has earned the Bird Friendly certification issued by the Smithsonian Migratory Bird Center or SMBC.
