A 2015 Cup of Excellence runner-up, this coffee is chock full of fragrance and flavors: toffee and chocolate pair with lemon, nuts, strawberry, and apricot for a sweet and complex cup. Dense body and an ultra-silky mouthfeel join a bright and structured yet delicate citric acidity for an eminently enjoyable cup.

About Homero & Diogo Machaedo of Brazil
Diogo Machaedo is the fifth generation of his family to grow coffee on Fazenda Recreio, one of Brazil's most consistently excellent coffee farms. Since 1890, the family has cultivated coffee, evolving their processing methods to produce award-winning coffee. COE winner in 2004, Fazenda Recreio has finished consistently in the top five.
In 2009, the Machaedo brothers installed a new wet mill, and this year marks the 122th coffee crop to come from the farm (still hand-picked due to terrain). Fazenda Recreio has about 75 full-time and 60 temporary workers whom they supply with infrastructure including a church, a health clinic, a soccer field. and a computer lab as well as housing. Dedicated to environmental protection, Fazenda Recreio is working to protect and restore springs, riverbanks, and native vegetation and fauna.
