Coffee Description
This Garnica comes from a friend of Tenfold, Ernesto Perez, and his sister Givette, from their family farm, Finca Fatima. Ernesto has been the conduit for much of our connection to Veracruz through his work with APG Specialty Coffees, and we’re excited to offer something of his on our menu!
This coffee’s first statement is preserved cherry, with baking spice, nutty sweetness, and a nearly ‘airy’ texture to follow. While the flavor is rich, it doesn’t sit heavy on the palate, adding a refined dimension to a profile seemingly tailor made for espresso. Perfect to enjoy with a pastry, or pair with milk, a real crowd-pleaser.

About Finca Fatima of Mexico
Siblings Ernesto Perez and Givette Perez-Orea are the third generation producers of the family farm Finca Fatima, located in Consolapan-Coatepec, Veracruz, Mexico.
Since 2018 they have guided Fatima into the specialty market, from its former status as a producer of high-quality commodity lots. Since that time, they have won the Mexican Cup of Excellence twice, in 2019 and 2021, and showcased the terroir of Veracruz to the public through agrotourism at the estate, where guests can stay among the coffee trees, and the diversity of the land around them.
Known for their lots of Criolla, Typica, and Geisha, the Garnica from Finca Fatima not only represents the quality of the farm itself, but sheds light on this lesser known cultivar. Developed in 1960 by the long dissolved Mexican Institute of Coffee (INMECAFE), the high-yielding plant makes up 5% of Veracruz’ coffee production. Mexico’s version of the venerable Catuaí, created in Brazil some 12 years later in 1972 (Instituto Agronômico/IAC).
