About Disnel Ramirez of Honduras

Coffee runs in the family for Disnel, who grew up working alongside his father on their coffee farms for most of his life. The Ramirez family were some of the original coffee farmers in this area after Disnel’s uncle, Antonio Ramirez, discovered wild Typica and Bourbon coffee tree varieties on his land in the 1970s and began cultivating them. Since 2012, Disnel’s been managing his own farm, named El Pichingo, where he processes coffee from harvest to parchment on 2 hectares of land.

In 2013, Insomnia's owners Evan Aldrete and Tyler Geel launched Dapper & Wise as a tasting room and roasting facility in Portland's Western suburbs, and by 2014, as a wholesaler as well.
