Coffee Description
A great decaf starts with a great coffee. We put the same effort and quality into every single offering we propose. We want to source a coffee that can be versatile coffee for non-caffeine drinkers as well as an amazing after-dinner coffee that doesn't leave you with a bitter finish. This single variety Tabi from the region of Quindio in Colombia matches perfectly our mission, value, and principles.
At Memli Coffee, we enjoy experimenting with pairing and afternoon coffee experiences. With sweet notes that pair with dessert as well as some cheese, this Tabi variety coupled with the Sugarcane decaf process ensures the preservation of the coffee's sweetness while removing caffeine.

About Quindio farmers of Colombia
This lot comes from a collective of smallholder farmers from Quindio. Tabi varieties are individually cupped for each farmer in order to only use the best lots for this lot (coffees 85+).
Afterward, these coffees are blended, milled in Bogota, and transported to DESCAFECOL where caffeine is naturally removed from coffee using sugarcane ethyl acetate. This decaffeination process enhances sweetness while maintaining the integrity of the flavor.
About the Tabi variety
In 2002, CENICAFE introduced the Tabi cultivar: a variety obtained by crossing Typica, Bourbon, and Timor Hybrid. One of the most important attributes is its resistance to coffee leaf rust, but it also displays the good cup quality characteristics of its Bourbon and Typica parents.
The name Tabi means “good” in the Guambiano (a native Colombian tribe) dialect.
