Coffee Description
This geisha nano lot is processed using what CCD calls Intrinsic Cherry process. Here’s what they say about it:
“[Intrinsic Cherry with 48 hours of fermentation in open plastic circular tanks] is our homage to the classic natural cup profile. Juicy and sweet, Intrinsic Cherry lots are brimming with bright fruit notes, round body, and a critical acidity. The beans that it leaves us are a vivid green, reminiscent of natural coffees without fermentation, or even washed. With this fermentation, we honor the inner value of each lot, showcasing nature’s potential.”
This lot features the classic citrus and floral notes of geisha with a jammy aromas and syrupy mouthfeel that results from the extended fermentation. We hope you enjoy this lot as much as we do!

Penstock Coffee Roasters
We source as much of our coffee as direct as possible. Currently, farm direct coffee accounts for all our Central and most of our South American coffees or about 85% of the coffee we roast. Direct for us means we select the lot and we determine the price, quantity, and quality of the lot directly with the farm or mill owner. For the other 15%, we rely on certified coffee (Organic, Fair Trade, Bird Friendly, Rainforest Alliance, etc.) which guarantees a minimum wage and minimum sustainability, or we purchase stellar cupping lots, i.e., game changing coffee in terms of taste, from mills who are innovative in processing, or from growers whom we intend or hope to purchase directly.
