Coffee Description
First whiffs channel cocoa, citrus, and walnut. In the cup, lemon, brown sugar toffee, and graham cracker dance and swirl. As it cools, acidity morphs from green grapes to table grapes, growing sweeter and sweeter, with raisin notes showing up in the lingering finish.

About Smallholder producers of Colombia
In the same way that a local honey contains the essence of many fields, this coffee present the combined effort of many smallholder farmers in the Cauca and Huila regions of Colombia. Average farm size in this area is about 1.5 hectares (3-4 acres), producing about 7,600 pounds of coffee annually (approximately 50 bags) per farm.
Each grower brings their best beans to the cupping table, and the higher the score, the better price they receive. This coffee, purchased by Cafe Imports, pulls together high-scoring lots of similar profile—in this case the rich, chocolatey flavors of classic Colombian specialty coffee. The fact that the farmers involved received a premium price for all their hard work adds an extra sweetness.
